Whistleblower statement
As UME, we are committed to conducting our business with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
We recognize the importance of enabling employees, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report concerns about misconduct, unethical practices, or violations of law and company policy without fear of retaliation.
Scope of Whistleblowing
Whistleblowing reports may cover, but are not limited to:
- Corruption, bribery, fraud, or financial misconduct
- Violations of maritime laws, international conventions, or safety standards
- Breaches of environmental regulations or pollution incidents
- Human rights violations, harassment, or discrimination
- Violations of labor rights or workplace safety standards
- Any breach of UME’s Code of Conduct, including conflicts of interest
Protection of Whistleblowers
- In line with EU Directive 2019/1937 on the protection of whistleblowers and applicable Egyptian labor and corporate regulations, UME ensures that:
- All reports will be treated confidentially and, where possible, anonymously.
- Whistleblowers acting in good faith will be protected from dismissal, demotion, harassment, or any form of retaliation.
- Any attempt to retaliate against a whistleblower will be subject to disciplinary action.

- Direct Contact: Reports may also be submitted directly to UME’s Compliance Officer / DPA (Designated Person Ashore).
