Eng. Mohamed Khattab brings over 40 years of maritime expertise, spanning naval architecture, marine safety, and international regulatory compliance. His career includes leadership roles in Egypt’s Flag State Administration, maritime consultancy in the Gulf, and representation of Egypt at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London. He holds a B.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Alexandria University and a Graduate Diploma in Fleet Operations and Marine Safety from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. Since 2015, he has served as the DPA for UME Shipping.

With over 35 years of experience in finance and accounting, Mr. Walid Moustafa has been a cornerstone of UME’s financial stability. He has served as CFO for Mr. Mohamed Badawy’s business operations since 2004, ensuring responsible growth, regulatory compliance, and operational clarity across all financial activities.

Fleet Manager & Head of Red Sea Services

Eng. Mohamed Badr has been an integral part of UME since 2015 and currently serves as Fleet Manager, overseeing the company’s technical operations. He is responsible for vessel maintenance, regulatory compliance, and engineering performance. Eng. Badr ensures UME Shipping’s fleet operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

In addition to his fleet management responsibilities, Mohamed also leads UME Shipping’s Red Sea Services, managing operations in one of the region’s most vital and dynamic maritime corridors. His hands-on leadership and deep operational insight are essential to UME’s daily performance and long-term reliability.

Captain Hossam EL Sahar

Marine Superintendent & Company Security Officer

With over two decades of maritime experience, Captain Hossam ElSahhar has built an exceptional career in the Ro-Ro and passenger shipping sector. A graduate of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, he has progressed from cadet to master, serving on a diverse fleet across the Middle East. His expertise spans ship operations, safety management, and crisis response, including notable roles in major maritime rescue operations. Recognized for his leadership and operational excellence, Captain ElSahhar continues to bring strategic insight and seafaring expertise to UME Shipping’s Board of Directors.

Mazen Badawy

Operations Manager

Since 2022, Mazen Badawy has played an essential role in the coordination of UME’s shipping services between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He oversees day-to-day logistics, port activity, scheduling, and client support to ensure seamless operations. His dynamic leadership reflects the next generation of maritime stewardship at UME.

Mohamed Ahmed Abadey

Technical Superintendent

With a career spanning more than 15 years across some of the world’s most respected maritime companies, Mohamed Ahmed Abadey brings deep technical expertise and a passion for operational excellence to UME.

Graduating from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in 2007 with a degree in Marine Engineering and Offshore Engineering, Mohamed quickly advanced through roles that shaped his global experience from nearly a decade with Maersk Line to engineering with NMDC in the UAE. Along the way, he honed his skills through extensive professional training in risk management, ISM Code, ISO standards, and maritime security, completing more than 50 specialized maritime courses.
